With Rockstar at the helm, you just know that the open world of Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to be worthy of admiration. The developer’s promising a roaring return to the Wild West, complete with dangerous wilderness, dust bowl settlements, and sparkling cities. Indeed, if there’s one thing these latest screenshots show, it’s that larger stretches of civilisation will play a more prominent role this time around.
The original Red Dead Redemption had its towns, but it’d be generous to call them cities or anything close. In the sequel, we’ve got the likes of Saint Denis, which looks to be a sprawling, built-up location that even has its own tram system.
From snowy mountains to lush heartlands, this is looking like an open world that we can’t wait to explore. Here’s hoping that Rockstar can recapture the charm and polish of the first game’s fantastic setting.
