There’s an Alan Wake television series in development

Remedy Entertainment’s beloved supernatural horror adventure Alan Wake is being adapted for television, according to a new report by Variety. Alan Wake, which released on Xbox 360 in 2010, follows the heavily monologued adventures of video gaming’s greatest Alan, a best-selling author who visits the sleepy town of Bright Falls, Washington, in a bid to cure his writer’s block. Dark occurrences follow, as the line between reality and Wake’s fiction begins to blur. It’s all very Stephen King meets Twin Peaks, and absolutely nails its picturesque, small-town setting, making for…

Pixelated Metroidvania Timespinner Arrives on PS4 and PS Vita This Month

We know, we know — here’s yet another pixel art platformer inspired by 90s era games with Metroidvania elements. This type of game is plentiful on PlayStation, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing, and Timespinner is doing some interesting stuff to stand out. One of the key aspects of this game is the Time-stop ability which, surprise, allows the player character, Lunais, to pause time whenever you like for a limited, er, time. This freezes all enemies in place, allowing you to use them as platforms, or to just better position yourself. Presumably it’ll also be used for some environmental puzzles, too. The combat sounds interesting, as well. You’ll find orbs throughout the game that all offer a melee attack, a…

Creative Director of Spider-Man PS4 Says It ‘Would Not Exist if It Wasn’t for PlayStation’

Marvel’s Spider-Man is out, and it’s currently enjoying a constant barrage of praise from all angles. Insomniac Games has produced the fastest selling game of the year – at least in the UK – and that news must be going down extremely well in the offices of Sony and Marvel. Of course, Insomniac put in a lot of the leg work to produce the title, but it’s important to remember that the game was only possible as a result of the three companies working together. Bryan Intihar, creative director on…

Online brawler Absolver’s upcoming Downfall DLC includes procedurally-generated dungeon

Hello Prospects and Absolvers! The team at Sloclap has been unusually quiet these last few months but that’s all due to the work on Absolver: Downfall – the new, free expansion for Absolver which we’re happy to announce will be coming on 25th September. The expansion is rather robust with something for both the PvE and PvP players in our community that might have been playing from the start last year or just started their journey to absolution last month when Absolver was featured as a PS Plus title.
