Rage 2 won’t have multiplayer but will have “a social component”

We know Rage 2 won’t have multiplayer but it will, id Software studio boss Tim Willits told me at QuakeCon today, have some kind of “social component”. “We will have a social component but it’s not your typical multiplayer,” he said in our interview. “We’re not quite ready to talk about it but we understand community is important, and we understand connecting with other gamers is important. But there’s not a true what I call ‘classic’ multiplayer, so you’re not running around together with your friends, because we feel we…

DOOM Eternal’s Looking Hot As Hell in Huge Gameplay Reveal

DOOM Eternal looks to be everything you could ever want in a sequel to 2016’s brutal reboot: bigger, better, and more bad ass. Developer id Software showed off a whole heap of gameplay during its QuakeCon 2018 keynote, with the demos emphasising the improved scale of the follow-up – and the host of brand new weaponry and enemies on display. The ridiculously entertaining ‘Rip and Tear’ mechanic is still very much intact, but the Slayer finds himself armed with a tetherable shotgun this time around, making navigation and aerial combat…

Those weirdos over on Reddit have done it again, providing concrete answers to the most important of questions. Shamefully, we didn’t spot this incredible little detail in our full breakdown and analysis of the gameplay reveal for Red Dead Redemption 2, but we simply have to spread the news. Red Dead Redemption 2 has horse testicles. That’s right, Rockstar’s gone the extra mile and given male horses a pair of big old swingers, and you can catch them in the aforementioned gameplay trailer if you stare hard enough. Those of…

The road to Hell is paved with good intentions, as they say, and a series of hasty decisions on Lara’s part unleash a chain of cataclysmic events that have everyone from…

Hands On: How Similar Is Marvel’s Spider-Man’s Combat to Batman: Arkham?

Batman: Arkham Asylum was such a gigantic success that many a famous franchise has copied its combat mechanics, from Assassin’s Creed to Sleeping Dogs. The PlayStation 4’s previous web-slinging outing The Amazing Spider-Man 2 also borrowed liberally from Rocksteady’s releases, so how does Marvel’s Spider-Man compare? Having played a couple of hours of Insomniac’s attempt earlier in the month, we feel well-placed to discuss. Regardless of what the developer says, there are similarities. Spider-Man’s iconic spider-sense ability makes him a perfect fit for counter-attacks, and so when you see the…
