Solo Honest Trailer Kicks the Star Wars Franchise While It’s Down

Solo, the second Star Wars Story released in theaters, is flying home on Blu-ray and DVD this month. And to celebrate, the Honest Trailers team have pulled out their fists and baseball bats to give it a nice purple hue around the ribcage as they beat it out of their memory, gleefully kicking the Star Wars franchise while it’s down. Despite boycotts, bad reviews, backlash and a lot of fan hate, as Solo prepares for its home landing, the general consensus seems to be that it’s actually pretty good. As…

Hands On: Team Sonic Racing Takes a Tailspin on PS4

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is, for our money, one of the few kart racers that deserves to be mentioned in the same sentence as Nintendo’s all-conquering Mario Kart series. The celebration of SEGA’s illustrious legacy not only revelled in ridiculous fan service (Burning Rangers, anyone?) but it also had a sharp gameplay loop whereby vehicles could, ahem, transform from cars to boats to planes and back again. It was barmy but brilliant at the same time. Team Sonic Racing yanks out the nineties nostalgia and vehicular variation, preferring to…

Delightful RPG spin-off Monster Hunter Stories is now available on iOS and Android

Capcom’s adorable Monster Hunter spin-off Monster Hunter Stories is now available on iOS and Android devices. Monster Hunter Stories originally released on 3DS in 2016, and saw the long-running series’ familiar creature-battling formula given a bit of a turn-based RPG twist. In fact, that’s a lot of ideas at play beneath its cheery exterior, with the game mixing classic questing, crafting, Pokemon-esque monster collecting, and a hypnotically odd combat system – but it all comes together admirably well. Best of all, as jarring as its art style might seem to…

‘The babies will be AVENGED!’ This Halloween, experience a different kind of thriller as Blessed Are the Children arrives On Demand and DVD just in time for the fall holiday. Horizon: Zero Dawn Board Game Is Looking Great as Kickstarter Draws to a Close

A little while ago we reported on the official board game version of Horizon: Zero Dawn, but details were thin on the ground. Jumping onto its Kickstarter page now reveals a whole host of information regarding the tabletop adaptation of Guerrilla’s latest and greatest. It’s also comfortably met its goal three times over, but if you want to get in on the action, there are still three days left in which to pledge. Anyway, the board game shifts the focus away from Aloy and onto four others who must fulfill…

Final Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald Trailer Ignites a Dark Wizard War

The final trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is here. Warner Bros. hyped up the arrival of this new footage for fans and, as promised, they delivered what will be our final big look at the upcoming entry in the wizarding world. This looks like it’s going to seriously up the stakes when compared to the first Fantastic Beasts, with the nefarious Grindelwald assembling a following who plan on shaking things up in a dangerously magical way. But not if Newt and Dumbledore have anything to say about…

Hands On: Starlink: Battle for Atlas Shows Promise That Could Prove Costly

As a concept, it feels like Starlink: Battle for Atlas is three years late to the party. The toys to life fad died out a long time ago, and so to see a title basing itself around the act of collecting weapons and ships out in the real world in the year 2018 almost seems like a foolish business decision to us. We got a chance to sample this blend between reality and videogame at EGX 2018, and while results in the gameplay department were fairly promising, we still can’t…
