The tie-up has manifested in a brand new mode known as the Infinity Gauntlet. As you can expect, the big new feature in this mode is everyone’s favourite villain: Thanos. And before you ask, yes, it does allow you to play as him.
In this guide, we’re going to detail how the Infinity Gauntlet mode works, how you can play as Thanos, and how to make the most of the new mode before it runs out.

How does the new Thanos Infinity Gauntlet mode work in Fortnite?
Infinity Gauntlet works much the same as Battle Royale. You ride into combat on the Battle Bus, gather weapons and shields, and build as usual.
Well, except for the fact that the Infinity Gauntlet itself actually drops into the arena, and the first person that picks it up gets to become Thanos.
Thanos is incredibly powerful. Not only does he have a huge health and shield bar, but he also has a range of devastating attacks. He can punch to destroy objects and crush players, fire a laser attack that deals enormous damage over time, and leap high into the air, landing on other players with a smash.
There is an equally massive catch though. While playing as Thanos you’re lit up like a Christmas tree, and completely visible to all players on the map. If you’re the first to get Thanos, you could have 99 other players to contend with. Good luck!
How do I play the Infinifty Gauntlet mode in Fortnite?
That’s the easy part. All you have to do is boot up Fortnite, and select Infinity Gauntlet from the list of modes. You can only enter as a solo player though, so bear that in mind.
How do I get the Infinity Gauntlet and become Thanos?
The Infinity Gauntlet can spawn anywhere within the circle, so your best bet is to remain in the air for as long as possible. You’ll see it when it spawns, as it drops from the sky.
So stay in the sky and keep an eye out. You can change from diving to parachuting to slow your fall while you wait, then dive in super quickly to get the Gauntlet.
An alternate strategy is to try your luck and land as early as possible, then hopefully grab the Infinity Gauntlet when it lands close to you. Your chances are pretty slim, but it should work once every few games.
If you fail to get the Infinity Gauntlet, don’t worry, The player who is now Thanos will be lit up like a Christmas tree, so every other player and their mum will be tracking them down. Keep at a safe(ish) distance and fire at Thanos till he goes down, then run over and grab the Infinity Gauntlet before the other players can.
It should go without saying that you need to avoid Thanos’s attacks. He hits really hard and can bring you down in a single hit, so be extra careful when shooting him. Try and stay hidden if you can.
