Yager has announced its next game: The Cycle. The Cycle is a first-person shooter in which you compete with other players to complete quests during a match that lasts around 20 minutes. The game is designed for 20 players to compete with each other on the map, but there are alien monsters to contend with, too. Yager calls it a “competitive quester”, a PvEvP shooter with a focus on emergent social dynamics. Anyone can attack anyone, but anyone can ally with anyone, too. “Players can be cooperative and competitive at…

Voldo is as weird as ever in Soulcalibur 6

Voldo’s in Soulcalibur 6. The veteran video game weirdo was confirmed playable in Soulcalibur 6 via a trailer that looks like it was published early – but of course the internet never forgets. In Soulcalibur 6, Voldo is described as a “hell guardian”. He uses weapons Manas and Ayus in his bizarre, self-taught fighting style. He has spikes on his eyes and a creepy face mask on the back of his head. The blind Sicilian was a character I struggled to get to grips with in previous versions of Soulcalibur…

Capcom has shown off the new design for Claire Redfield in the Resident Evil 2 remake. During a panel at San Diego Comic-Con, the Japanese game company released a new image, below, that shows Claire’s new look for the upcoming remake. Claire has undergone a number of changes. The publisher also announced a Collector’s Edition, which comes packaged in a case inspired by the series’ iconic Item Boxes. It includes a copy of the game,…

Review: Far Cry 5: Lost on Mars (PS4)

Far Cry 5, like a few of Ubisoft’s high profile releases, has come with the promise of a weird and wonderful DLC schedule that takes the base game and places it in increasingly strange scenarios. Lost on Mars is the latest bizarre excursion for the open world shooter, and it’s probably about what you’re expecting. It doesn’t take itself seriously at all, starting with a sketchy setup that sees Nick Rye beamed up to the red planet by none other than Hurk. He needs your help to prevent a Martian…
